Escalera and Summer Youth Employment Programs

Our future is dependent on supporting today’s youth. Acacia Network eliminates barriers to employment and economic mobility, particularly for those at risk of dropping out. These programs encourage youth to graduate from high school, prepare for college, and have summer employment opportunities.
Escalera Program:
Taking Steps to Success Program” was developed in collaboration with National Council of La Raza and PepsiCo. This program provides an intensive 15 month comprehensive learning and mentoring program that encourages at-risk Latino high school students to graduate from high school, prepare for college, and explore and take advantage of career opportunities in fields in demand.
Summer Youth Employment Program:
The Summer Youth Employment Program is open to all NYC residents between the ages of 14 – 21, regardless of income level. The program provides seven weeks paid work experience during the months of July and August in addition to classes to develop work related skills.
